This selection of suggested ski tours is just one of the many which are available in the extensive Dachstein Region. Careful planning and preparation, in advance of your tour, is absolutely essential.

Safety Precautions:
You can, of course, complete any of the tours on your own. However, it is essential to hire the services of a mountain guide if you are inexperienced or you have no knowledge of the area (see suggestions below). Although it is easy to reach the Dachstein plateau by Dachstein Krippenstein cable car, please do not forget that you are in a high alpine region. Please check the Weather Forecast. Tours should only be attempted when there is good visibility. It is essential to take emergency equipment with you: navigation system, avalanche alarm, shovel, first aid kit and a mobile telephone. Please use ski tour equipment, and we would advise you to take extra warm clothing on most of the tours. The traverse of the Dachstein can be completed using normal ski equipment or commercial snowboards.
