There are many traditional, rustic mountain huts throughout the Dachstein region where you can stop off and relax whilst enjoying some traditional, home-cooked fare.

These are all the ingredients for a magical winter adventure in tranquil surroundings. There is hardly a sound to be heard as you "stamp" your way in your snow shoes through this snow-filled winter wonderland.
The area:The vast Dachstein massif is the gateway to two different worlds: the first is the dream- like winter landscape with forests of Swiss pine and massive rock formations. Then there is the vast, legendary Hallstatt glacier - the largest in the northern lime stone Alps.
