Snow Shoe Hiking in Goisern

When, in the winter months, the Goisern Valley lies deep in snow, it's time once more to dig out your snow shoes and go out and explore a winter wonderland. Snow shoe hiking is popular with people of all ages, and is a sport practiced widely throughout the Dachstein Salzkammergut Region

One such lovely snow shoe tour takes you up to the Predigstuhl Mountain Inn and continues via the Rossmoosalm over to the Hütteneckalm. You can begin your snow shoe hike either in the Lasern neighbourhood in the valley, or 1000 metres higher up at the Predigstuhl Inn itself.

Short route description: There is a well-worn winter hiking trail from Lasern via the "Himmelbauer" up to the Rathlucka Hut. From here you continue up to the Hotel Predigstuhl and join the cross country ski trail to the Rossmoosalm. Now follow the ski tour route to the Hütteneckalm. Allow approx. 3 hours.
