Something rather different and a chance to get an even body tan ........ this was the thinking behind the naturists' ski trail on the Gjaidalm. After spending a relaxing but probably long evening in his mountain hut, the owner, Hans Schilcher, decided to establish just such a ski run.
The only "clothes" to be worn would be cross country skis. The dream became reality! From the end of February to the end of the ski season, you could ski on sunny days, without any clothing at all, on the Dachstein plateau (1700 - 1800 metres).
The ski run has, sadly, not been in operation since 2007, and remains a "humourous" memory!
In the summer months there are plenty of places where naturists can sunbathe. Around the lake there are 2 bathing areas with secluded naturists areas.
