Discover some unusual aspects of Bad Goisern!

Local museums

The traditional Bad Goisern "Heimatmuseum" was constructed in 1981. This was a project developed by the local folk group. Originally the building was a store room belonging to the local mill.

More recently,the building was renovated and re-designed as a museum, with financial support from the local and Upper Austrian authorities. In 1992, the building was extended further and converted into the "Landlermuseum".

*Prehistoric discoveries and other findings from early history and early evidence of settlement in the Goisern valley
* Traditional riflery and handicrafts
* Goiseren Shoe Maker and nail maker
* Relics from Bad Goisern's history
* Painters, the first photographer, Beinrichter Oberhauser
* Folk culture and folk art
* The Konrad Deubler Collection
* Documentation relating to the Siebenbürger Folk, the next generation of a group of protestants forced to flee their homes during the 18th century.

The museum is run by a group of volunteers and is open during 2011 as follows:

June - September
Daily except Mondays from 10.00 - 12.00
On Wednesdays and Fridays the museum is also open from 15.00 - 17.00
Closed Mondays!
