... until Spring! The lively Cultural Society "Kulturbunt Hallstatt" begins its new series of events on Sunday 8th November 2009. The title - "JAZZ AND SWING UNTIL SPRING"

The Upper Austrian Jazz Orchestra proudly presents, in conjunction with Franz Milacher, its 12th annual Big Band and Jazz Workshop

This colourful late- summer celebration has, for many years, been drawing in the crowds to Bad Goisern. The event which takes place during the last weekend in August is always popular with those who love joining in with local customs as well as folk music. In keeping with tradition, the Gamsbart Olympics will be held again this year ..........

* A "Gamsbart" is a tuft of hair from the back of a chamoix which is traditionally worn as a hat decoration.

The traditional annual Corpus Christi Procession takes place this year on 3rd June 2010.

This is the 10th annual event for which Hallstatt, a World Cultural Heritage Site, is transformed into a treasure chest for all the family. The guests of honour are, of course, the children!

With more than 4000 competitors from 30 different nations, the Salzkammergut Mountainbike Trophy is the event for professional and hobby cyclists alike!

Runners from around the world will get together in Hallstatt on 2nd May 2010 to compete in the inner Salzkammergut's mega sporting event.

50 years after the building of the Goiserer Ewinger Wand trail the new Goiserer Legendstrail is opened.

A delightful range of ceramics of every different kind - from classic vases to sculptures and hand made ceramic jewellery which will be admired by all.

Hans Reisenauer is a craftsman who has always moved with the times, yet is still committed to the traditions of the Goisern Valley. His individual works of art have been exhibited in many galleries throughout Austria!

Goisern is a village of many contrasts - a combination of all things old and modern - eg the "Hand. Werk.Haus" and Neuwildenstein stately home, the Kirchengasse passageway and the lower Marktstrasse (market street). This contrast helps create the unique atmosphere of this "haven for those interested in local craftsmanship“. Goisern is rich in history, and its local people always have lots of tales to tell.
