This event, held in the historic surroundings of the "Kirchengasse ", attracts many groups of violinists as well as individuals. Their common interests are strings and bows, and the music they play.
The ever-popular "Geigen Dischgu" is not just a celebration of traditional folk music, typical of this region, but of many other types including Viennese and Irish.
A wonderful opportunity to get together with others who share the same passion for playing the violin!
Reactions to the event in the past have been very positive, and show us that this type of music draws people together. One lady wrote, "The event was a great success in every respect."
This unique opportunity for people to meet and play music freely and spontaneously together will not be overlooked despite all the other events being organised around the Exhibition of Rural Life.
The occasion is also a great way for children to discover some of our local craftsmanship and join in all the fun!
