
This mountain hut (formerly known as the Dachsteinalm and the Schilcher House) is open all year round, has 50 beds and camping facilties for 32 people. There is seating for 80 inside the hut and a further 70 outside on the sun terrace.
It is an easy 10 minute walk from section III of the Dachstein Krippenstein Cable Car or Dachstein World Heritage Cable Car to the hut.
Alternatively, you can hike up from the valley in four and a half hours. The hut is an ideal starting point for numerous hiking tours on the Dachstein plateau.
The network of hiking trails is suitable for people of varying degrees of fitness, and the trails themselves vary in length: Dachstein View, Heilbronn Cross, Taubenkogel, Hoher Gjaidstein, etc. The Simony Hut and the Wiesberg House are also easy to reach from the Gjaidalm. There is always a warm and friendly atmosphere, and you can enjoy a well-earned rest and refreshments at the hut.
The Gjaidalm Hut is also an ideal base for those completing the Seewand Climb.
