Summer
The Plankensteinalm mountain hut is a popular destination for visitors of all ages. Whilst you relax on the terrace and enjoy some regional food specialities produced at the hut's own butchery, the children can safely explore their natural surroundings.
The Plankensteinalm is accessible on foot, by mountainbike or by tractor driven land train. As you near the summit, take a look behind you and take in the stunning views. Hopefully you will understand why the "locals" like to come up to the Plankensteinalm, time and time again.
Ascent:
* From Gosau Mittertal: 3 - 4 hours
* From Lake Gosau via the Ebenalm: 3 - 4 hours
* By "land train" - please enquire at Tourist Information in advance
