"Faßldaubenrennen" is the perfect combination of winter sport and entertainment which takes place every two years on the steep slopes of the "Gschwandtleitn" in Au/Bad Goisern.

... until Spring! The lively Cultural Society "Kulturbunt Hallstatt" begins its new series of events on Sunday 8th November 2009. The title - "JAZZ AND SWING UNTIL SPRING"

The "Meister Craftsmen" Summer in the Salzkammergut has become a popular event over the years. This year the event will take place from 24th July to 29th August in the impressive HAND.WERK.HAUS situated within the Neuwildenstein Stately Home in Bad Goisern.

There will be an additional section of over 68 km in the 2010 Salzkammergut Mountainbike Trophy event. Anyone interested can personally join the man in charge and test out the route!

This colourful late- summer celebration has, for many years, been drawing in the crowds to Bad Goisern. The event which takes place during the last weekend in August is always popular with those who love joining in with local customs as well as folk music. In keeping with tradition, the Gamsbart Olympics will be held again this year ..........

* A "Gamsbart" is a tuft of hair from the back of a chamoix which is traditionally worn as a hat decoration.

This major ski event dates back to the 1950s and 60s, and has recently seen a revival! In the past, ski legends such as Ernst Hinterseer, Hugo Nindl and Willi Bogner have competed in this thrilling race on the Krippenstein.

600 "Krampusses" and demons, St Nicholasses and good angels will assemble once again in the market square in Bad Goisern for this annual event.

With more than 4000 competitors from 30 different nations, the Salzkammergut Mountainbike Trophy is the event for professional and hobby cyclists alike!

The traditional annual Corpus Christi Procession takes place this year on 3rd June 2010.

This is the 10th annual event for which Hallstatt, a World Cultural Heritage Site, is transformed into a treasure chest for all the family. The guests of honour are, of course, the children!

Runners from around the world will get together in Hallstatt on 2nd May 2010 to compete in the inner Salzkammergut's mega sporting event.

The newly built "Craftsmens' Gallery", located in one of the rear wings of the Neuwildenstein Stately Home, is the perfect venue for Advent.

This event, held in the historic surroundings of the "Kirchengasse ", attracts many groups of violinists as well as individuals. Their common interests are strings and bows, and the music they play.
